TNA Impact closed with a wild finish last night as NXT hooligans invaded the show to injure Mike Santana, then Frankie Kazarian cashed in the Call Your Shot trophy to win the TNA World Championship. Coming in to Friday Night for Turning Point (Nov. 14, 2025), TNA continued with those storylines to turn rumors into a work.
For whatever reason during the day, rumors started swirling on social media that Santana was unhappy with TNA.
My initial reaction was that this didn’t pass the sniff test. If Santana is on the radar of WWE as fans are speculating, why would he ruin his reputation by stiffing TNA?
TNA played into the no-show aspect of the rumors. Santana was booked for tag team action in the main event, but he was nowhere to be found throughout the evening.
The main event arrived, and Santana still wasn’t there for the match. Steve Maclin had to wrestle solo against Kazarian and Nic Nemeth. Maclin put up a tough fight to start, however, the numbers were too much. This led to Santana making a dramatic entrance to the arena ready to fight.
In a callback to the world title bout, Santana and Kazarian replayed that finish with a twist. This time Santana pushed through the pain of his injured arm to clobber Kaz with the Spin The Block lariat to win.
Safe to say now that those rumors were bunk. Santana’s absence was all part of the storyline.
That was only part of the larger NXT storyline. Through the evening, Santino and Ava bulked up security to prevent any chaos. Santino even went to Costco to purchase security cameras, but he hasn’t set them up yet.
Also part of the story was Nic Nemeth plotting to cash in his Call Your Shot trophy on Kazarian. After the main event, Kaz was down from Santana’s finisher. Nemeth decided to make his move. Before Nemeth could officially get the match to start, the NXT crew crashed the party. Robert Stone, Lexis King, Charlie Dempsey, High Ryze, Stacks, and Brooks Jensen showed no mercy for Nemeth, Santana, and Maclin. Another angle was if Kazarian was actually in cahoots with NXT. Well, they beat Kaz down too.
The Hardys came out with chairs, but their efforts were futile. Santino wasn’t safe either. As he argued with his son-in-law Stacks, Jensen trucked him from behind. Sonna ma gun!
So much for all those security plans. The mystery continues on how NXT is infiltrating the Impact Zone.
