The Pittsburgh Steelers are signing veteran wide receiver Brandon Johnson, per Aaron Wilson. This will be his third stint with the team.
Johnson has appeared in 23 career games with the Steelers and Denver Broncos, catching 26 passes and five touchdowns.
The Steelers added two receivers to their roster over the course of the 2026 NFL Draft, taking Alabama wide receiver Germie Bernard in the second round and Iowa return specialist Kaden Wetjen in the fourth round. With two draft picks used on receivers,
as well as DK Metcalf, Michael Pittman, and Ben Skowronek (special teams) having spots locked up, Johnson will be competing for what is likely to be the one open roster spot for a sixth receiver.
