What is the story about?
I
find myself becoming a crotchety old man watching baseball these days, so seeing these two teams in the World Series makes me happy. I am especially enamored with watching Chandler Simpson….yet I can’t really stand Justin Crawford, a Simpson lite type of player.
Why is that?
On to the links.
Phillies news:
- Alec Bohm had a solid end of the season in 2026. Is it enough to bring him back, even on the large qualifying offer?
- Speaking of August, there were some Phillies that showed something in that penultimate month. What does it say about 2027 ($)?
MLB news:
- The Yankees like what their pitching coach brings to the table, so they’re keeping him around for three more years.
- Might the league and the player’s union extend the current CBA one more year to avoid a lockout? That doesn’t look too likely to happen ($).
- This is a really cool story. A collector has a graded ticket to all but eight of Cal Ripken’s game during his 2,632 consecutive game streak.
