Earlier this week it was announced that the Heavyweight boxing fight between Jake Paul and former WBA IBF, WBO and IBO Heavyweight boxing champion, Anthony Joshua, was made official for Dec. 19, 2025,
inside Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida.
And it won’t be an exhibition bout.
Indeed, this will be a professional match, which means Joshua has all the right and free will to knock “El Gallo’s” blonde block off if he is able to connect. And there are many — Dana White included — who feel that is exactly what will happen when the bruising Brit takes on a man who has been very careful with picking opponents over the years.
Nevertheless, Most Valuable Promotions (MVP) released an official poster to promote the Netflix-streamed event, which will be the first of many marketing tactics in the coming weeks to get you pumped prior to fight night. Let’s just hope the digital designers proofread the next poster before sending it to the print shop for mass production.
You know, to avoid “judgment.”
Paul is riding a six-fight win streak, coming off a unanimous decision win over Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. earlier this year (recap here). He was in line to battle WBA Lightweight champion, Tank Davis, last week before the fight was pulled as a result of “Tanks” legal woes. Now, he will go from facing his smallest opponent to date to the biggest.
As for Joshua, he was last seen getting knocked out by Daniel Dubois back in Sept. 2024, which is probably the reason Paul feels the big man “has no chin.” That loss snapped Joshua’s four-fight win streak, which includes his impressive knockout win over former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Heavyweight champion, Francis Ngannou (see it here).
Should the fight actually come to pass (unlike this one), are you going to change your tune on Paul for taking on the biggest test of his career, regardless of the outcome?
