The Guardians completed the come from behind victory to eliminate this year’s version of 2023’s D-backs, and also prove that the Pope is not, in fact, infallible. So we are down to the final four. In the American League, the Rays host the Guardians, with that series getting under way tomorrow. But we begin with the National League, and we’ll see if the Brewers can knock off the Dodgers, after being swept by them here in 2026. They did win more games in the regular season, and took the season series 4-3.
Curiously each side won the road series while losing the home one.
The Brewers did beat Tarik Skubal on August 16, though he allowed only one run over six innings that day. Jacob Misiorowski had the same line the previous day, and got the W, so…. This one might be the best pitching match-up of the season. Should be a fun one.
