Since being selected in the second round of the 2023 NFL Draft, O’Cyrus Torrence has been a steady contributor and improving member of the Buffalo Bills’ offensive line as the team’s starter at right guard.
But as the Bills prepare for the 2026 NFL season, Torrence, the 59th overall pick in 2023, is entering the last year of his rookie deal.
President of football operations/general manager Brandon Beane has a habit of reaching contract extensions with the team’s internal players before they reach free
agency, and today’s edition of Buffalo Rumblinks leads off with the latest news on a possible contract extension for Torrence.
Bills, Torrence have mutual interest in hammering out contract extension
According to ESPN.com’s Buffalo Bills beat reporter Alaina Getzenberg, there is mutual interest between Torrence and the Bills in reaching an extension that will keep the right guard in Buffalo.
“There has been interest from both sides in keeping the Bills’ starting right guard for the past three seasons around for years to come,” Getzenberg reported in an ESPN.com piece on which players should expect a new deal sometime this offseason.
Getzenberg adds that Torrence has “expressed his understanding of the business side of the league,” and that Brandon Beane “has a history of getting extensions done just before or early in the season.”
O’Torrence started all 17 games at right guard during his rookie season, appeared in all 17 games (16 starts) during the 2024 season, and once again started all 17 games last year.
According to Pro Football Focus, Torrence allowed 32 total pressures in pass protection, including three sacks, zero hits allowed to opposing pass rushers, and one penalty committed. He ranked 32nd among all qualifying guards with a 64.0 pass-blocking grade, and was 58th with a 54.6 run-blocking grade. Torrence allowed 32 total pressures in pass protection.
