I will have many more words tomorrow but this afternoon, I have very few. This team looks like April rather than July. I’m as nervous as can be. This is slipping out of this team’s hands extremely quickly.
Studs
Payton Tolle (3.o IP, 3 H, 1 ER, 4 Ks)
Trevor Story (2-for-4, 2 runs, 1 HR, 1 RBI)
Duds
Brayan Bello (4.0 IP, 5 H, 4 R, 3 ER, 2 BB, 3 Ks)
That was inarguably NOT the start anyone needed out of Bello. He has such a hard time settling into games and even seeing the top of the order a second time. If he doesn’t get hit hard early, he can power through. He got knocked around for three runs in the top of the 1st inning. Not a recipe for success.
The entirety of the offense
Where is the life in this team? See more tomorrow, but this is just such lifeless baseball.
Play of the Game
It goes to Tolle, who’d did everything he could to keep this team in this game.
