The Baltimore Ravens are well into their roster cuts, as is the rest of the NFL, with a 6 p.m. ET deadline on Sunday to get down to 53 players.
The chaos won’t stop there. The Ravens will then have the opportunity to submit claims for players on the waiver wire, and, like their 2026 draft slot, it is higher than usual this year. Baltimore sits 14th in the waiver order, giving them a solid chance at claiming a player or two this year.
Here’s how it works: all players with at least three ‘credited’ seasons
in the NFL are subject to waivers when released by a team. A player earns a credited season if they spend at least three games on the active roster or the season on injured reserve. Teams scour the waiver list for intriguing targets and formally submit claims to the league.
Claims are then awarded according to the current waiver order. During the offseason, it is the reverse order of last year’s standings – the same as the draft order. That will remain the case until Week 4, when the reverse order of the 2026 standings will go into effect.
Teams who are awarded a player must immediately clear a roster spot for them. Otherwise, they effectively pass on the player and he will be awarded to the next-highest-claiming team. This happens when a team has already grabbed their top waiver targets and no longer has ways to make room on their 53-man roster.
The roster-cut waiver window opens immediately after teams set their 53-man rosters (6 p.m. ET on Sunday). Teams have until 1 p.m. ET on Monday to submit their claims, at which time the league will begin processing them. Here is the current waiver order:

A number of players waived by the Ravens could get claimed over the next 24 hours. Among them are outside linebackers Adisa Isaac and Kaimon Rucker and cornerback Roger Longerbeam.
On the flip side, this could be a rare opportunity for Eric DeCosta. Baltimore rarely sits this high in the waiver order, and almost never during final roster cuts. They are not likely to be in the top half next summer, as they are currently heavily favored to make the playoffs (-290, per FanDuel Sportsbook).
