The Las Vegas Raiders are looking to improve at the offensive line position. It was abysmal last season, and the hope is that the new coaching staff can maximize the group’s talent.
Offensive line coach Rick Dennsion is already making an imprint. During preseason, the execution was precise and looked completely different than it did the year before. Cousins was under pressure one snap, and Mike Washington Jr. averaged 7.3 yards per carry.
It caught the eye of former Raider Richie Incognito. Incognito was
with the Raiders in 2019 before injuries ended his career. During an interview with Raider Nation Radio, he gave his thoughts on Dennsion and the new outlook for the line.
“These guys work hard and their frustration last year was they are putting in all this time, they’re not getting the results on the field, but they really felt like they weren’t getting coached up in the meeting rooms, so there was a lot of frustration.”
“I think that frustration is completely gone with a guy like Rick Dennison. He is highly detailed. He’s all about fundamentals. He’s going to get these guys all on the same page and you could see it in the preseason. You could see the double teams happening, the bodies hitting the floor. The backs hitting the holes, so it’s an exciting time.”
Hopefully all of this hits the field next Sunday against the Miami Dolphins. It will be the first test for the new offensive line to make its mark on the season.
