You didn’t think the Green Bay Packers would have just a single game in alternate uniforms this season, did you? Hopefully not, because Thursday afternoon brought the news that the team will once again be bringing out their “1923 Classic” threads later this season.
This alternate uniform, which debuted last season in a home game against the Carolina Panthers, features navy blue jerseys with gold numbers and striping and brown pants. The airbrushed leather-inspired helmet is the true highlight, however,
and will be back when the Packers host the Buffalo Bills on Sunday Night Football in early December.
Hopefully the Packers will perform better against the Bills in these uniforms than they did last year against Carolina. The team inexplicably lost 16-13 in that game after coming in as 13-point favorites, while tight end Tucker Kraft was lost for the season with a torn ACL. It can’t get much worse than that, right?
On second thought, don’t answer that.
In any case, the alternates are back and we’ll all just have to try to find a way to enjoy them under the lights in prime time.

Packers GM confident Micah Parsons will return at All-Pro level | Packers Wire
Plenty of players are as good or better after ACL surgery than they were before. Parsons’ work ethic and desire to return should give him plenty of opportunity to be one of those players.
2026 NFL season X factors: Key players for all 32 teams | ESPN
If Parsons isn’t back to his normal level, the team will need Lukas Van Ness to have the breakout that seems to be expected of him. He is Ben Solak’s pick as the Packers’ X-factor.
Packers Are New and Improved, But Are They Improved Enough? | SI.comBrian Gutekunst wasn’t afraid to look outside his locker room for help around the cutdown deadline. Hopefully the remade tight end room will provide the team with better depth at that spot moving into the regular season.
I think we can understand a bit better why the Packers have been cracking down so hard on videos coming out of training camp practices now.
