The Undertaker said his teenage daughter could eventually follow him into the world of professional wrestling, though he has reservations about it.
During the most recent episode of the Insight with Chris Van Vliet podcast, Taker spoke at length about a variety of topics, including the future of his podcast, highlights from his legendary WWE career, and his current work at head of creative at AAA.
The Dead Man also opened up a bit about his personal life, and he addressed the videos posted online of
his daughter Kaia training in a wrestling ring.
“Is that a future WWE superstar?” Van Vliet asked The Undertaker of the girl he shares with his wife, fellow WWE Hall of Famer Michelle McCool.
“Unfortunately, probably yes,” Taker replied.
When asked why he thought it was unfortunate that Kaia may follow in his footsteps, The Phenom explained he didn’t want her to experience the kind of pain he regularly feels from the years spent in a squared circle.
“I wake up every morning, and I do a little body assessment, like what’s working today, what isn’t working,” he said. “I’m not discouraging her from it, but those are those kind of the things. Obviously, the grind is not like it was when I came up.”
Taker continued: “I hate thinking of one of my children having to wake up and be in pain like that, but that’s just being a dad. If it’s in her heart and that’s what she wants to do it, then obviously I will do everything in my means to make sure that she does it right.”
The iconic wrestler than shared some criticism he has for the in-ring style Kaia seems interested in utilizing.
“She’s kind of stuck on that flippy-do stuff,” The Undertaker said. “Now, she’s taken my rope walking and added a flip to it. It’s almost like a ‘See what I can do, Dad. Like, you never did that.’ Okay, all right.”
