Carmella suggested over the weekend she might return to the ring after seeing what she perceived as a wrestler using aspects of her persona on AEW television.
The former WWE Women’s World Champion last competed
on television in 2023. During her time away, she has given birth to two children with her husband, announcer Corey Graves. In February 2025, Fightful reported Carmella’s WWE contract had expired, and she was no longer with the company. However, Carmella insisted she hasn’t retired after a fan
posted a clip on social media of an independent wrestler named B3CCA wearing similar ring gear as the Princess of Staten Island once wore and using Carmella’s “Code of Silence” finishing move.
B3CCA, in a leopard-print suit, applied the Code of Silence — a modified head-scissor submission hold — during a match against Kris Statlander on AEW Collision. The fan who uploaded the clip of B3CCA using the move wrote in the caption her X (Twitter) post on Sunday: “Why I thought this was @CarmellaWWE.”
Later in the day, Mella herself responded to the fan’s post, writing: “hmmm.. there’s a difference between homage and theft…”
Carmella added, “I didn’t retire, I had two babies… might have to come back and show these bitches how it’s really done.”
Carmella’s post later received a response from the indie star, who wrote: “B3CCA is Money.” (Carmella’s Twitter display name is “Mella Is Money.”)
B3CCA later posted a lengthier message that seemingly addressed the situation.
“Your fave could NEVER … B3CCA is MON3Y 1 of 1 Bring it on…. bitches,” she wrote in the post, which included a montage of her doing various moves.
B3CCA also reposted several posts defending her from other fans accusing her of ripping off Carmella.
TNA star Heather By Elegance also weighed in on Monday, writing on X: “@b3cca4ever carmella sneak diss track coming out when??“
Meanwhile, Bayley encouraged Carmella to live up to her side of the threat by retiring to in-ring competition.
“YOU WON’T. I DARE YOU. DO IT,” Bayley wrote on X.
Carmella, who participated in WWE’s first all-women’s Royal Rumble in 2017 and won the first women’s Money in the Bank event the same year, has not commented further on the matter as of press time.
What do you think, Cagesiders? Did B3CCA rip off Carmella? Would you like to see Carmella back in the ring? Let us know in the comments.
