Joe Cowan: 5/10
Will be extremely disappointed with the goal he conceded, letting a soft shot squirm into the far post. Had a few shots right at him which he handled well, played around the Norwich press well but his long kicking was a bit suspect.
Finlay Holcroft: 7/10
Was strong at right back, giving Ta Bi the freedom to attack at will. Occasionally provided an option going forward but wasn’t need due to the performance of the winger in front of him.
Ben Kindon: 7/10
Not overly tested by the Norwich attackers but dealt with anything that came his way,
played some lovely diagonal balls to Tutierov on the left wing.
Joe Neild: 7/10
A calm presence at the back, passed the ball well and cruised through the game.
Jenson Jones: 7/10
Dealt well with Mundle down the left flank and got forward often to provide another option, getting an assist with a nice ball through to Jaydon Jones for the third.
Jaydon Jones: 9/10
Played in central midfield but found so much space going forward, won both the penalty and numerous free kicks around the box thanks to him ghosting into space and Norwich needing to haul him down. Scored the third with a good finish and came close a few other times too.
Jack Whittaker: 8/10
Sat in front of the back four and played some clever passes around the Norwich press which would free the team to burst forward.
Jocelin Ta Bi: 10/10
An absolutely ridiculous display by Ta Bi. Scored the opener with a well taken penalty but toyed with the Norwich defence all night, went past players at will and came close to scoring another goal multiple times.
Tom Proctor: 9/10
Made it 2-0 with a good finish from Ta Bi’s cut back and hassled and harried Norwich whenever they were in possession. Almost scored early on when he won the ball in the opposition D but his shot was blocked when he could have squared to Angulo.
Timur Tutierov: 7/10
Plenty of strong running at Mundle down the left wing, beating him often but didn’t quite have the final ball tonight.
Juan Riquelme Angulo Caicedo: 6/10
Very isolated up top with most of the home side’s play coming down the wings. Did have a great chance when Ta Bi slipped him in but he snatched at his shot and sliced it wide, did get down the side again in the second half and cut the ball back to a team-mate but the goalkeeper managed to smother the effort.
Substitutes
Charlie Dinsdale: 7/10
Came on for Tutierov and caused Norwich all sorts of problems from the left wing.
Marcus Neill: 6/10
Like Angulo, he was isolated up top but did have a couple of efforts, with one shot blocked and an overhead kicked well saved.
Liam Hunt: 7/10
Heavily involved in midfield following his introduction, with most play coming through him and he also made a couple of good defensive contributions when Norwich tried to break.
Felix Scott: 6/10
Took over the #10 position from Proctor and played some nice passes around the opposition box.
Bayley Hester: 6/10
Came on for Jenson Jones late on and didn’t get many opportunities to impress.
Man of the Match: Jocelin Ta Bi
Ta Bi was very obviously man of the match tonight, with the Ivorian winger being a class above everyone else on the pitch. Not sure he ever lost the ball, even when he was taking on multiple Norwich defenders at once, kept going past them at will or finding a team-mate with a good pass. Scored the opener with a penalty, pulled the ball back to Proctor for the second, played in Angulo for his one good opportunity with a sublime bit of play, then had multiple attempts go close in the second half, forcing the goalkeeper into a great save after cutting inside and even going close with a shot direct from a corner.
