Bia Mesquita is set for her sophomore outing in the octagon.
MMA Fighting confirmed that the UFC is targeting a matchup between Mesquita and fellow bantamweight contender Montserrat Rendon at UFC Vegas 115 on March 14 at the APEX. The bout was first reported by Danny Segura.
Mesquita is a grappling legend, having won the jiu-jitsu world championships 10 times, and an ADCC gold medal in 2017. She transitioned to MMA in 2024 where she quickly amassed 5-0 record and won the LFA bantamweight title, before
signing with the UFC earlier this year. Mesquita made her UFC debut at UFC Rio in October, submitting Irina Alekseeva in the second round, earning a Performance of the Night bonus.
Rendon made her UFC debut in 2023, taking a split decision win over Tamires Vidal at UFC Vegas 79. She followed that up with a unanimous decision loss to Darya Zheleznyakova in her next bout, but got back in the win column with a split decision victory over Alice Pereira at Noche UFC this year.
