The Seattle Seahawks recently lost assistant general manager Nolan Teasley to the Minnesota Vikings. With that move, it was questioned as to whether Teasley would start a Seattle to Minnesota like pipeline. Similar to the one between the Seahawks and the Carolina Panthers with their former general manager, Scott Fitterer.
Well, it turns out that pipeline already exists. In Teasley’s first moves as general manager of the Vikings, he has signed two former Seahawks; wide receivers Michael Briscoe and
Trayvon Rudolph. Although Briscoe and Rudolph were only undrafted free agent signings who didn’t last with Seattle even into June, it is still telling that both players were quickly signed by Teasley in Minnesota.
It is also interesting to see that Briscoe signed with the Vikings after being waived by the Seahawks for “failure to disclose physical condition.” Could his signing with the Vikings potentially impact Seattle’s ability to go after his guaranteed money?
Time will also tell how frequent and often this new Seattle to Minnesota pipeline appears. It will be fascinating to watch in the coming years if this develops into something any larger than UDFA talents during OTAs.
