Set piece defense has been a struggle for Bayern Munich this season as the squad has allowed 14 goals from set pieces across all competitions.
Head coach Vincent Kompany said that the team is working to improve that aspect of the game.
“The fact is, we’re not perfect. We’re trying every day to become a better version of FC Bayern. We went through a period where we talked about it almost daily, when we conceded the most goals from set pieces. We’re on the right track. On the other hand, we’re one of the best
teams in Europe in attacking set pieces, that’s often forgotten. But overall we want to do better in that department,” Kompany said (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).
There will be a heightened sense of awareness from fans on set piece defense, but Bayern Munich’s opponent’s will be looking to exploit that weakness. Can the Bavarians make a marked improvement for the stretch run of the season?
