After two weeks of training camp, we are just two days away from the Pittsburgh Steelers’ preseason opener against the Green Bay Packers from Acrisure Stadium. Over the course of these last two weeks, there have been multiple players who have seen their stock rise. Few have done so quite like wide receiver Roman Wilson.
On a near daily basis, Wilson has showcased his improvement over the offseason, making plays in team periods and putting his hands and upgraded route running on display. Not only has he caught
the attention of the media and fans, he has also earned the praise of his quarterback.
Speaking to the media on Tuesday, Aaron Rodgers raved about No. 14, and the progress he has made.
“He’s looks to be more dynamic [than last year],” Rodgers said. “He’s making plays. He’s confident. The personality starts to come out. He’s joking around more with you in the locker room. I just love it.”
Wilson caught 12 passes in 2025, two of which went for touchdowns in the late stages of losses to the Green Bay Packers and Los Angeles Chargers, respectively. The former third-round pick has run with the first-team in 11 personnel as the slot receiver, and also taken reps on the boundary. With the addition of Michael Pittman Jr, Pittsburgh has several options to turn to in the passing game, and they are hoping Wilson’s improvement carries over from camp to Sundays.
