According to a report from Sky Germany journalist Philipp Hinze, Borussia Dortmund is set to make another approach at getting attacker Said El Mala from FC Köln:
🚨⚫️🟡 #BVB is preparing a new offer for Said El Mala (19/🇩🇪) that is set to be submitted to 1. FC Köln later this week.
Planned: Around €40m guaranteed plus bonuses. It would be the third offer from Dortmund. The last one was €34m+10. BVB is trying to soften up #Effzeh through the bonus structure as well.
The clubs recently had direct talks
again, but they are still apart. Köln still wants at least €50m. @SkySportDE
El Mala looks like a natural fit for Borussia Dortmund’s philosophy of developing young, attack-minded talent. The versatile forward thrives in one-on-one situations, using his pace, close control, and direct running to unsettle defenders. Whether deployed on either wing or in a central attacking role, El Mala offers the kind of positional flexibility that has become a hallmark of Borussia Dortmund’s recent attacking players.
El Mala’s willingness to press from the front also aligns well with Dortmund’s high-intensity style under Niko Kovač, while his creativity and eye for goal suggest he could flourish alongside technically gifted teammates. At just 19-years-old, El Mala still has areas to refine — particularly his decision-making in the final third and consistency over 90 minutes — but Borussia Dortmund has built a reputation for helping young players make those improvements.
If given time to develop rather than immediate expectations to lead the attack, El Mala has the tools to become another exciting success story at the Signal Iduna Park.
