The Kentucky Wildcats are in the middle of their prep for a date with the South Carolina Gamecocks on Saturday night. It has really transitioned into a must-win game for both teams to set them up for the remainder
of the SEC schedule.
As Mark Stoops and his staff begin to finalize the game plan, the fan base has also learned which player may be out by kickoff time in Columbia. In tonight’s initial report, the two biggest takeaways for the Cats come from one player on each side of the ball.
After the poor defensive performance against Eastern Michigan, many were hopeful that starting corner DJ Waller would be ready to take the field against the Gamecocks. Well, as of tonight, he is doubtful to suit up for the Cats on Saturday night.
Then on offense, Zach Calzada has been listed as questionable. This is not as shocking as Stoops alluded to the QB being banged up still in his Monday press conference and named Cutter Boley the starter.
Will he be ready for Saturday night? It seems it could be another situation of taking the field in an emergency situation.
