The Pittsburgh Steelers received somewhat surprising news on Tuesday when it was revealed that New Orleans Saints quarterbacks coach Scott Tolzien would not be taking the job as Pittsburgh’s offensive coordinator. Now, another Saints assistant has informed the team he, too, will be staying in New Orleans.
Chase Haslett has made it known he intends to remain with the Saints, per Jordan Schultz.
“Saints TEs coach Chase Haslett — who interviewed for the Steelers passing game coordinator/TEs coaching position
— will also remain in New Orleans,” Schultz reports. “I’m told it was Haslett’s decision. A fast-rising coach to watch moving forward in upcoming cycles.”
The Steelers will now continue their search to fill these respective positions, and will do so by interviewing Minnesota Vikings tight ends coach Brian Angelichio for both the offensive coordinator and tight ends coach positions, per Gerry Dulac.
