TCU sophomore pitcher Trever Baumler made 15 starts and 29 apperances over his two seasons with the Horned Frogs. The Urbandale, Iowa native will now look elsewhere, as Jamie Plunkett of Horned Frog Blitz reported that Baumler will enter the transfer portal after two years in Fort Worth. Baumler arrived as a two-way player, making eight starts and 13 appearances during his freshman season. He posted a 2-4 record and a 6.39 ERA with 34 strikeouts and 10 walks over 38 innings pitched. He went 2-3 with a 6.46
ERA and 33 strikeouts in 2026.
Baumler walked 17 and pitched 46 innings in 2026, making 16 appearances with seven starts. One of the top players in Iowa out of high school, Baumler was named the 2022-23 Gatorade Iowa Baseball Player of the Year. The 6-foot-3, 210-pounder was both a midweek starter and a weekend starter during his time with TCU.
