Franklin Expects High Recruiting Turnout
James Franklin is expecting about 250 recruits to be present for Saturday night’s showdown with Oregon:
This does not come as a great surprise, as the White Out weekend is typically Penn State’s biggest of
the season. With the 2026 class struggling to close on several elite recruits, the Nittany Lions could use some recruiting wins this weekend.
Four-Star Safety Set to Visit for White Out
Among the list of 250 recruits visiting on Saturday is four-star 2027 Indiana safety Kaleb Elkins:
Elkins is the No. 24 safety in the 2027 class. His other power conference offers include Ohio State, Alabama, Louisville, Indiana, and Wisconsin. Penn State does not yet have a safety in the 2027 class.
Penn State in the Mix for No. 1 Cornerback
Penn State is firmly in the mix for 2027 No. 1 cornerback John Meredith III:
Texas and Oklahoma are currently the two favorites, but Penn State has picked up momentum. Meredith visited State College in March and has scheduled a visit during football season. If the Nittany Lions can pick up one of the very best recruits in the country from Texas, the 2027 recruiting will continue to shape up as Franklin’s best.
Top Five 2028 Quarterback Added to Visitors List
No. 5 2028 quarterback prospect Donald Tabron is now on the extensive list of visitors for the White Out:
The Michigan native received an offer from Penn State on March 25th and made two unofficial visits to State College during the 2024 season, including for last year’s 35-6 White Out win over Washington. Tabron’s other power conference offers at this time include Auburn, Michigan, and Oregon.
BONUS: Hockey Picks Up Third 2009-Born Recruit
Penn State hockey earned its third commitment among 2009-born players, as forward Gerry DiCunzolo announced his commitment yesterday:
DiCunzolo is the No. 33 American skater in his class, making him another top recruit for a program that has changed its recruiting momentum immensely in the last year.
