The Friday availability report remained unchanged for the No. 1 Texas Longhorns heading into Saturday’s Red River Rivalry against the Oklahoma Sooners at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas, but there was plenty of movement for Brent Venables and his team.
The headline news for the Sooners is junior cornerback Eli Bowen joining the injury list as questionable with a report emerging from Oklahoma that the 5’9, 189-pounder won’t be available against the Longhorns. A starter for the Sooners, Bowen gave up a 41-yard
completion against the Bulldogs two weeks ago, but has allowed receptions on just 38.1 percent of the 21 passes targeted against him in coverage with two pass break ups and two penalties committed.
In another significant development for OU, starting left tackle Michael Fasusi was downgraded to out with the shoulder injury sustained in the season opener. Fellow offensive lineman Eddy Pierre-Louis was also downgraded, from questionable to doubtful in a blow for the Sooners.
Four players were upgraded from probable to available while tight end Jack Van Dorselaer remains probable.
