We’re only a few days into the post-James Franklin era of Penn State football, but already the former head coach will be making his first public appearance since his firing last Sunday.
ESPN announced via
a press release, that the College Gameday crew will conduct an exclusive live interview this Saturday with him on the set of their show in Athens, Georgia for the Ole Miss-Georgia game. It will be the first interview with Franklin since he was officially relieved of duties as the Nittany Lion’s head football coach, which Terry Smith has since taken over in the interim.
We’ve already heard Pat Kraft’s side of the story as to how he came to the decision to terminate Franklin mid-season, so it’ll be interesting to hear what he has to say on Saturday’s show. This will also mark James’ second appearance on Gameday this season, as he showed up on the set a few weeks ago on September 27th, when the show was held at PSU’s campus for the White Out showdown with Oregon, which the Nittany Lions lost in double overtime, sparking a 15-day free fall that led to the abrupt end of his PSU head coaching tenure.
