AEW Grand Slam France kicked off with ROH World Champion Bandido defending the title against AEW World Trios Champion Kofi. Could this be the start of the New Level collecting all the gold in AEW and ROH?
The live crowd was super into both babyfaces, with dueling chants early on for each star. However, business picked up when their respective trios partners (Hangman Page & Swerve Strickland) joined the fun at ringside.
Hangman and Swerve did put the focus on themselves with a confrontation outside the ring late in the bout. While all that chaos was going on, Bandido found a creative way to nail Kofi with the 21-plex and win.
The bottom line is that Kofi learned the hard way why Bandido has held onto the ROH world title for 548 days and counting.
Where do you think this angle with Hangman and Swerve is going next? Are you surprised that Kofi came up short in this world title match?
