The New York Giants are one of the longest shots in the NFL to reach the Super Bowl, with FanDuel Sportsbook listing the Giants Super Bowl odds at +225000. Only two teams, the Cleveland Browns and New Orleans Saints, have longer odds.
That, though, did not stop one league insider from predicting in the ‘Between The Hashmarks
’ Substack by Matt Lombardo that the Giants would shock the NFL and reach the Super Bowl.Lombardo surveyed four NFL front office executives, three NFL scouts, two NFL coaches,
and five current players.
One predicted that the Giants would face the Buffalo Bills in the Super Bowl. Another predicted that the Giants would at least exceed expectations.
Oddsmakers have generally set the over/under for the Giants in 5.5 victories for the 2025-26 NFL season.
If the Giants are better than expected, one of the insiders participating in Lombardo’s survey said Giants defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence could be a surprise MVP candidate.

In my game-by-game prediction way back when the schedule was released, a predicted a 7-10 season. Despite the optimistic summer that the Giants have had, that remains about the best outcome I am willing to predict.
Maybe the way we should look at even one voter saying the Giants could reach the Super Bowl is that there is some recognition that the Giants have taken steps forward.
That is at least something to feel good about.
