It was only yesterday when our Kenneth asked if the Los Angeles Rams and Myles Garrett would agree on a new contract for Myles Garrett since his massive trade from the Cleveland Browns, and we have our answer as reportedly Garrett and the Rams have reached terms on a new deal.
Details are still being determined, but here’s Mike Florio explaining what he thinks he knows about the new deal through sources. There really isn’t much to share, yet, other than a new deal was likely done, and it can tie Garrett
to the Rams for at least 2030.
“Per a source with knowledge of the situation, the Rams and Garrett have worked out a new deal. It’s a five-year deal covering 2026 through 2030, with available options through 2038. (The options are surely present for cap purposes.)”
It’s clear the Rams are not planning to rent Garrett for one or two seasons, instead their plan seems aimed at making Garrett the focal point of the defense, perhaps similar to what Aaron Donald was for L.A. before Garrett.
It’s exciting times for the Rams and their fans, but there is a long way before Week 1. How well will Garrett acclimate? Will he be able to stay healthy up and through the season?
Regardless, the Rams are working on a new deal with him, with more details to be announced once c0nfirmed. Stay tuned.
