Xabi Alonso praises Camavinga’s versatility after Real Madrid’s 4–1 win over Levante
After Real Madrid’s comfortable 4–1 victory away to Levante, Xabi Alonso shed light on Eduardo Camavinga’s role within
the squad during a post-match exchange with Managing Madrid’s Lucas Navarrete.
When asked about the Frenchman’s most natural position, Alonso highlighted Camavinga’s adaptability across midfield roles:
“You saw that he started one play as a 6 and then finished it as a 10, almost reaching our last line of offense. He’s a very dynamic player with a very good skill set. So I am very happy about having this because this is the first time I’ve worked with him since I’ve arrived at the club because he hasn’t been available. He will enter our rotation little by little just like Jude, who is also back and will be very important.”
The Real Madrid manager’s words underline what many supporters already know: Camavinga is not confined to a single position. His ability to break up play, carry the ball forward, and join the attack makes him one of the most versatile pieces in Alonso’s setup.
The 22-year-old has had a long recovery from his injury and is now set to gradually reintegrate into the squad alongside Jude Bellingham, another key returnee. For Alonso, having both players available adds depth and dynamism to a midfield already stacked with options.
