Justin Herbert and the Los Angeles Chargers would get the ball to start the second half. It looked like it would be a quick three-and-out after a holding call forced a 3rd and 15, but Alex Singleton was beat in coverage, missed a tackle and gave up the first down.
This would spark them on offense and they would keep making plays to get first downs. The first true resistance came just inside field goal range on a third and seven where Herbert would just take a design quarterback run 24-yard down to the Denver
seven yard line for a first and goal and would convert it into a touchdown two plays later to tie the game up.
The touchdown would cap a 14-play, 73 yard scoring drive to open the second half for Los Angeles. The drive would eat up nearly 10 minutes of the quarter.
Broncos 10, Chargers 10.
After a predictable three-and-out by the Broncos, the Chargers would get the ball right back to face a Denver defense that has shown zero pass rush all game long. A 58-yard punt by Jeremy Crawshaw was the lone highlight that pinned the Chargers down at their own three yard line for their next drive.
Denver would flip that advantage by forcing a punt and getting the ball back to the Broncos offense at their own 40 yard line. Instead, Bo Nix scrambled and had the ball knocked out at the end of the play to give the Chargers the ball right back. On the very next play, the Chargers running back will break all of the tackles for a 42-yard touchdown run to blow the game wide open for Los Angeles.
Chargers 17, Broncos 10.
The third quarter would end with Denver needing to execute another fourth-quarter comeback.
