Crab Five center Julian Reese had a record-setting first year in the NBA with the Washington Wizards as a rookie that came onto the stage late. His time with the Wizards came to an abrupt end Thursday, though, as he was a minor piece in a multi-team trade that gave him the roster spot of outgoing Denver Nuggets star Peyton Watson.
However, Reese’s spot in the trade was not because the Nuggets wanted him; he was expected to be waived from his two-way contract immediately after the trade, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania.
Despite the Nuggets having multiple two-way slots open on their roster, the former Terp is now teamless and will look to add another chapter in his NBA career somewhere farther from home.
