Barcelona are being linked once again with Manchester United defender Lisandro Martinez, who will be a free agent in the summer.
The Red Devils are once again enduring a difficult season, with Martinez having publicly criticized the club’s hierarchy following their Champions League defeat to Atletico Madrid.
According to El Desmarque, Barcelona are “closely monitoring his contract situation” and are considering making a move next summer when his contract at Old Trafford expires.
The Argentine has bags
of experience, is a left footer and could be a good option to bolster a Barcelona backline ahead of the 2027-27 campaign.
The report says Barcelona are considering sending in a proposal before the end of the year. Martinez will be able to negotiate with overseas clubs from the start of January, as things stand.
There is one potential complication in that United do have the option to extend his contract by another year. However, it’s not clear yet if that will happen or if Martinez is willing to continue at Old Trafford.
So today’s Barca Blaugranes Question of the Day is:
Would Lisandro Martinez on a free transfer be a good signing for Barcelona?
