Ferran Torres had stayed silent in recent days despite heavy rumors about his future, including a possible move from Barcelona to Paris Saint-Germain. But he’s now decided to talk, and is saying A LOT.
The World Cup winner stopped by the Today Show in the United States and said earlier on Monday that “in football, you never know” when asked about his future.
In another interview, Ferran was asked about extension talks with Barça as he enters the final year of his deal. And his answer was quite impactful.
“Barça have to show they love me. They can come and negotiate, and in the end, everything will be discussed.
“Whenever [teams like PSG] want you, it’s a good thing. I have a contract with Barça. It’s true that in football you never know what might happen, but the good thing is that, since I have a contract, I can wait and decide for myself.”
This sounds like a player who thinks he’s worth a lot of money and is using PSG as leverage in extension talks, hoping to get the Catalans to show how much they love him by improving his salary.
Will Barça call his bluff? This could get ugly.
