Gameweek 31 in the Premier League looks like a tricky one for Fantasy Premier League managers, with several teams blanking and fewer players available to choose from. It is a week where every decision matters, especially when it comes to transfers and overall squad setup.
In this EPL GW31 RMT, I will be taking a closer look at my team for Gameweek 31, sharing my thoughts and the moves I am considering.
Goalkeeper
Emiliano Martinez continues to be a dependable option for Aston Villa. Hosting WestHam United, he
has a strong chance of earning save points even if a clean sheet does not come.
His ability to gather bonus points through key saves and overall involvement makes him the preferred start this week. This gives him the edge over Martin Dubravka, who faces a tougher away fixture with Newcastle United.
Defenders
The defense combines steady options with players who can contribute going forward. James Tarkowski is Everton’s key figure at the back. While his fitness is uncertain, his threat from set-pieces against Chelsea makes him worth considering if he is cleared to play. Bournemouth host Manchester United at the Vitality Stadium as they look to end a winless run.
The Cherries have drawn their last four Premier League matches and currently sit in 10th place. United are third and pushing for Champions League qualification next season. This makes Marcos Senesi an appealing option as he could pick up clean sheet points against a side still adjusting under new management.
The Tyne-Wear Derby makes things more intriguing. Starting Malick Thiaw for Newcastle and Omar Alderete for Sunderland offers a balanced approach. Even if one concedes, Thiaw’s four goals this season make him one of the top-scoring defenders and a strong pick for attacking returns.
Midfielders
In midfield, the decision to captain Morgan Rogers stands out as a bold move with high potential. He has been one of Aston Villa’s most consistent attacking players this season, with eight goals and five assists, often playing in advanced positions and getting into good scoring areas.
He is supported by Harry Wilson, who has been a strong performer throughout the season. With 143 points so far, he offers great value and remains a reliable option. Facing Burnley, he has a good chance to deliver again, which makes him a solid vice-captain choice.
Enzo Fernandez and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall complete the midfield. Dewsbury-Hall faces his former club Chelsea, which adds extra motivation, and he has also shown good creativity in recent matches. Together, they provide a balanced midfield with both attacking threat and consistency.
Forwards
Up front, the absence of Erling Haaland gives Igor Thiago the opportunity to lead the attack. With 19 goals this season and strong form, he looks like a key threat against a Leeds united side that has struggled defensively at times.
Hugo Ekitike joins him as a more risky option. He continues to be involved in Liverpool’s attack, but his recent returns have been inconsistent and his minutes are not always guaranteed.
Still, he has the quality to deliver if given the chance. With Haaland not involved this week, the responsibility for goals rests on this front two, and both players will be important to my Gameweek 31 plans.
Bench
This week, I’m keeping Haaland, Gabriel, and Cherki on the bench during their blanks. It means I can still play a full starting eleven without losing points and keeps my team ready for the weeks ahead.
Which players are you backing this week to make a difference in your FPL rank? Feel free to share your thoughts, i’d love to hear how you’re shaping your team and any differential picks you’re excited about.
