It’s Wednesday, so you know what that means… time for the blog that gives you the internet’s most ridiculous college football preview series- it’s #FakeNunes time. Can we keep finding ways to get #jokesandgarbage
into a Syracuse Orange preview? You be the judge….
Now onto this week’s opponent
Opponent: Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets
Location: Atlanta, GA
Students: 47,961 students who are better at calculus than the FNSI staff
The 2025 Fake Nunes Statistical Index (#FNSI)
We continue to look to innovate our analytics model so we here’s what the lab cooked up for this season.
Rivalry Trophy
The FNSI staff won’t give up on their quest to bring back more tradition into today’s college game. Let’s see what they’ve got for this one
Belin Brothers Belt Buckle
This is a battle between Syracuse quarterback Rich and Georgia Tech defensive lineman Blake. Henry and Duke have already split games with the Orange and Georgia Tech so by our methodology, winner of this game gets full bragging rights.
Jersey Boys
Fran Brown wants to reclaim the Garden State so let’s see how the Orange stack up against each opponent.
The Orange have 17 players from Jersey on this year’s squad while Georgia Tech have none.
Advantage: Syracuse
Notable Alum
Bringing back this one as we love to drop, some knowledge every now and then to help our loyal readers possibly win a trivia night. After all we are the Syracuse blog that loves you back and we take that seriously.
Wallace Coulter vs Albert Báez
Coulter was an engineer and inventor best known for developing the Coulter Principle which led to the development of the complete blood count test. Báez co-invented the X-Ray reflection microscope and is the father of singer Joan Báez. We don’t know how you feel about Joan’s music, but it’s hard to distinguish between important medical advances.
Advantage: Push
Punter vs Punter
Marshall Nichols started his career at Mississippi State, left Starkvegas to go to UNLV and now is a grad student at Georgia Tech. He’s 2nd on UNLV’s all-time list for punting average behind Randall Cunningham. Jack Stonehouse is currently 4th in the nation and as far as we can tell he’s above Randall Cunningham.
Advantage: Syracuse
Orangeawatha Miron Court Special Menu Item
Thanks to Orangeawatha we now that the Miron Victory Court will have a specialty item for each opponent this year. It’s not April and we aren’t in Augusta, but we’ll be eating pimento cheese sandwiches with some peach cobbler for dessert.
Fran Brown Hat Tracker
We’re not asking Fran. We’re begging him to bring this back please.
The Official #FakeNunes Game Prediction
Brent Key seemed to take issue with Fran Brown last year. Brown seemed to take issue with Key’s toughness comments. The Yellow Jackets are rolling and the Orange are reeling so this one could get feisty. Syracuse gets a better start and scores on their first offensive possession, but Haynes King takes over and Key tries to make a statement by getting his QB 5 touchdowns. Syracuse fans are left confused when Jakhari Williams comes in to play quarterback in the final quarter while bloggers and talk show hosts thank Fran for the content.
Final Score: Georgia Tech 41, Syracuse 16
