It’s a rough start to the season for Ange Postecoglou.
Of course, we also have to acknowledge that he’s only a few days into his new job at Nottingham Forest (that’s still so weird).
But at the same time, you got to see out the remainder of the game when you’re three minutes into added time. Ange’s Forest didn’t do that, and now they’re knocked out of the cup after losing 3-2 to Swansea.
Here’s a (geo-locked) look at some of the celebrating after Cameron Burgess sealed it for Swansea in the 97th minute:
It’s also got to be a miserable trip back for Nottingham Forest fans, who travelled at the way to South Wales. According to The Guardian’s match report, Big Ange appeared to take the blame for Forest’s late-game collapse.
In other EFL Cup news, Grimsby Town upset Sheffield Wednesday 1-0 at Hillsborough on Tuesday. If you ask me, that’s a far more embarrassing defeat – and it was viewed by less than 10,000 fans in the stadium.
