Braves are in Detroit for a weekend series and coming off the off-day on Thursday, are rolling with a pretty standard lineup for them these days.
After the standard top 3, Baldwin is back at catcher and batting cleanup a with a RH Charlie Morton on the mound. Obviously with Morton spending so much of the last few years playing for Atlanta, most of the Braves regulars have fewer than 10 career at bats
against him. Jurickson Profar, because of his time with San Diego, comes in with the most ABs against him at 19, and Profar has a career .936 OPS against him.
At the bottom of the order, Michael Harris has been pushed down to 8th, after what has been a rough few weeks. He did have an improved series against Washington and after the overall tough season he’s experienced, he certainly wants to finish strong in 2025 with hopes a full rebound in 2026.
The Tigers offense this season has been mostly a 4 headed monster of Riley Greene, Kerry Carpenter, Spencer Torkleson, and Gleyber Torres, all of whom have a wRC+ somewhere between 114 and 123.
Parker Meadows and his .302 OBP batting lead off certainly is a bit odd, especially with Zach McKinstry sitting right there as a viable option to setup the table for their big four hitters, but who are we to judge. They’ll face off against Bryce Elder this evening.
