Thursday brought an array of news on the injury front for the Buffalo Bills. It was there second full day of practice following a bye week, but not everyone is getting healthier.
What Changed:
On the positive side of things, Ed Oliver was a full participant in Thursday’s practice. This is good news for the defensive lineman who has been nursing a knee injury for a month now.
However, Dee Alford wasn’t able to participate on Thursday after being limited on Wednesday as the ankle injury he has been dealing with is
apparently still giving him trouble. Ray Davis didn’t practice either, but he’s just dealing with an illness and, unless it’s something serious, I would expect to see him back on the field before game time Sunday.
In addition, Joe Andreesen was back on the daily report. The Buffalo linebacker had been on the report on Week 6, although he was well enough to play in Las Vegas. On Wednesday, his name was not among those needing attention from the Bills’ medical staff, but it would appear that one day of practice sent him back to the trainers.
Here’s a full look at today’s injury report:
Not Practicing:
- CB Dee Alford
- T Spencer Brown
- RB Ray Davis
Limited Practice:
- LB Joe Andreesen
- OLB Bradley Chubb
- TE Dalton Kincaid
- WR DJ Moore
- OLB TJ Parker
- WR Tyrell Shavers (PUP)
Full Practice:
- DL Ed Oliver
- G Ar’Maj Reed-Adams
- DL T.J. Sanders
Worth Watching:
- Spencer Brown not practicing for a second straight day, although on Wednesday he told members of the media that he was just resting his back.
- DJ Moore getting two straight days of practice – albeit limited – is a good sign that the wide receiver will have a game jersey come Sunday.
- Whatever is going on with Dalton Kincaid. The tight end has a chest injury – and all we can say is: at least it isn’t his knee.
- Tyrell Shavers practice window is open. I wouldn’t expect him to be added to the active roster this week, but if he gets some full practice in next week, we can start speculating about when.

Here’s a quick look at what the Ravens are reporting as they prepare to make the trip to Orchard Park:
Worth Watching:
- Lamar Jackson continues to have full practice. I, as I’m sure all of you, have little doubt that we will see him in uniform at Highmark Stadium Sunday.
- Roquan Smith hyperextended his knee in the fourth quarter of the Ravens Week 7 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. He didn’t practice Wednesday, but the linebacker seems to be headed in the right direction to suit up for Week 8.
- Rookie guard Vega Ioane surprisingly returned to the practice field after spraining his MCL on Sunday. Kyle Hamilton and Roquan Smith also returned to the field. Both were limited on Thursday.
