The BBN has not had a lot to cheer about this college football season, as the Kentucky Wildcats have struggled to get rolling in conference play.
However, Saturday night was a time of celebration, as the
Cats finally ended their 10-game SEC losing streak in a 10-3 win over the Auburn Tigers.
It also ended something else… Hugh Freeze’s tenure with the Tigers.
According to a report by Bruce Feldman, Auburn has decided to move on from Freeze.
In three seasons at The Plains, Freeze finished with a 15-19 record overall and a 6-16 record in conference.
This news isn’t shocking in the slightest, as it felt like the losing coach of last night’s game knew what their fate would be. Unfortunately, with this news now comes the largest competitor for UK if they enter the Jon Sumrall coaching market as well.
For Kentucky and the BBN, that will be the biggest piece of this conversation. We absolutely will celebrate this win, but it might have come in the ugliest way possible.
Stoops and his team now have some momentum, though, as they head into Florida week. What will the noise be this week? It will certainly be something to follow.
