Jaguars fans — how would you grade the team’s start to 2026 NFL free agency?
During the NFL legal tampering window, Jacksonville’s front office has focused on retaining glue guys on team-friendly deals (CB Montaric Brown, OLB Dennis Gardeck, TE Quintin Morris) over entering bidding
wars on homegrown stars (RB Travis Etienne, LB Devin Lloyd).
When you consider the recent contract extensions of WR Jakobi Meyers and OL Cole Van Lanen, the Jaguars essentially chose to invest in WR, OL, CB, OLB, and TE over RB and LB.
It’d be nice to pay everyone. Considering Jacksonville had to restructure several contracts just to get out of the negatives in salary cap space, on top of the near-top-of-market deals that Etienne and Lloyd demanded, it made sense to let them walk.
Free agency officially kicked off today (Wednesday) at 4 p.m. ET, and the only teams yet to have added a player from another team are Seattle, Denver, and Jacksonville.
Are you happy with how the team has started free agency, or would you have liked to see some more action by now?
