What is the story about?
Tanner Bibee won the 2026 Gold Glove Award for Pitchers.
Bibee’s fielding excellence was not enough to cancel out his 4.52 FIP and get him a playoff start, but his fielding prowess should be enough to give him a foundation for a better performance in 2026 should he find a way to get more whiffs.
Bibee had 5 Defensive Runs Saved and 0.4 Fielding
Run Value. He jusf needed to maybe get more than 37% groundballs because too many of his 43% flyballs ended up as home runs.
Congratulations, Bibee!
