It was a quiet day on the transfer front for Bayern Munich and PSV Eindhoven as it pertains to attacking midfielder Ismael Saibari.
After Tuesday’s news was hot and heavy, things slowed down on Wednesday. However, that does not mean that Bayern Munich’s interest is cooling in the 25-year-old Morocco international:
There was no contact between Bayern and PSV regarding Ismael Saibari today, but that certainly will happen at a later time. PSV expect a substantial fee to be paid, so it takes some time –
but all parties are confident that the deal will go through.
Things could heat up quickly…or they could slow down until after the World Cup. The biggest obstacle for a deal getting done will be the two sides agreeing on a transfer fee. Right now, it is unclear on just how much PSV Eindhoven wants, though some reports indicate Bayern Munich will start its bidding at €46 million.
While not a roadblock, it is still also a question of where Saibari fits into Bayern Munich’s plans as well.
