The Cincinnati Reds lost again on Monday night, this time back home in Great American Ball Park. It came at the hands of the mighty Los Angeles Dodgers, and the loss officially eliminated the Reds from postseason contention with roughly two weeks of games left to be played as they finally dipped to 10 games under .500.
Of course that’s how this season’s final nail was hit.
Anyway, while the Reds lost 4-1 after Tarik Skubal sliced and diced their eyeballs all night, at least superstar Elly De La Cruz
managed to show the rest of the world that he, at still just 24 years of age, is about to be the single most dominant force on a baseball diamond for a handful of years.
He just recently wrapped up a stretch of homering in five straight games. If how hard he hit his 457 foot blast out of GABP tonight is any indication, he may well be en route to finishing the 2026 season as a whole on a similar tear.
This one went out of GABP altogether.
Too bad it just missed taking the Toyota Tacoma with it along the ride.
