Let’s get to the Philadelphia Eagles news and links …
Myles Garrett trade rumors should heat up after Browns rework contract – SB Nation Philadelphia Eagles: We know the Eagles need more pass-rush help after losing Jaelan Phillips in free agency and they have wiggle room on the cap, especially after June 1 if they trade away A.J. Brown. Fans in Philly has been hoping to see the team in on a possible Maxx Crosby deal, so why not go after an even bigger prize? The Eagles are a team that don’t really
need their draft picks to stay successful after years of solid drafting, meaning they have the luxury to try and pull off a huge deal like this. Adding Garrett to the Eagles effectively says “goodnight” to the rest of the NFC East. It would cause the Giants and Commanders to quake in their boots playing young quarterbacks who have injury concerns against the league’s most dominant, violent pass rusher — and it would immediately put Philly back in the NFC Championship conversation after seeing the conference dominated by the NFC West in 2025.
Browns, Myles Garrett trade options: Cowboys, Bills among Top 6 destinations – Dawgs By Nature
Myles Garrett to the Philadelphia Eagles: The Eagles won a Super Bowl with a dominant defensive line. Browns GM Andrew Berry has a close relationship with Philadelphia GM Howie Roseman, who employs Andrew’s twin brother, Adam Berry, as well. The Eagles could ship out WR AJ Brown after June 1st, which could help offset both the trade haul going back to Cleveland and some of the salary cap-related issues. Philly is always willing to swing a trade, and Roseman’s relationship with Berry has to help.
Browns and Myles Garrett Agree to Modified Contract Language – Over The Cap
As I mentioned on X, it is an odd move to make for a player with a no trade clause, but the Browns seemingly turned a very player favorable contract back into a team favorable one with this move and will certainly keep trade discussions out in the media next year if the team plays poorly this year.
NFL Trade Rumors: “Howie Roseman and the Eagles are super hot after Myles Garrett” – BGN
“Rumor going around … and I have not heard it out of the Eagles, but I’ve heard it from a couple of other super high-ranking people in other teams that are clearly on the phones. That Howie Roseman and the Eagles are super hot after Myles Garrett. That Howie would give up, like, three first-round picks for him.” [BLG Note: This article is from October 30, 2025.]

Eagles mailbag: Are 2026 or 2027 draft picks more preferable in an A.J. Brown trade? – PhillyVoice
I’m going to focus on the last part of your question, noting that a post-draft trade would have to involve 2027 picks. Personally, I think 2027 picks are preferable. The Eagles have nine picks total in the 2026 draft, with extra picks in the third, fourth, and fifth rounds. They’re also picking a little higher than they usually do after their first-round exit in the playoffs last season. They’re not hurting for draft capital this year. But also, as noted in our Tuesday mailbag, if you look at Eagles mock draft roundups, a lot of the guys projected to them are kind of like, “Ew, no.” It just doesn’t seem like a very good draft this year, with fewer than normal true first-round talents. And that’s at pick 23. If you’re trading with a team like the Patriots, for example, you’re getting pick 31. Surely, the Eagles would far prefer the Patriots’ pick in 2027 (and the Pats would probably prefer to keep their 2027 pick instead, frankly), as New England is highly unlikely to repeat as AFC champs, and also have some potential to not even qualify for the playoffs. Hell, they’re not even favored to win their own division this season. As for having the “framework” of a post-June 1 trade worked out, sure, I can see that. Of course, as you mentioned, the Pats could fill their need for a receiver elsewhere or A.J. could suddenly decide that he loves Jalen Hurts again like he used to (OK, maybe not). But there is risk on both sides that something could blow up a deal between now and then.
Thoughts about all 10 players Eagles have added in free agency – NBCSP
WR Hollywood Brown. The Eagles brought in Brown on a 1-year, $5 million contract. Brown is a former first-round pick who has never quite lived up to his draft status as the No. 25 overall selection in 2019. But Brown has had a somewhat productive career with his best season coming in 2021 with the Ravens; that’s his only 1,000-yard season. Last year with the Chiefs, Brown caught 49 passes for 587 yards and 5 touchdowns. The idea with Brown (5-9, 180) is that his pure speed — he ran a 4.27 at his pro day in 2019 — will help stretch the field both vertically and horizontally. That element means that Brown can theoretically have an impact on the game when he isn’t seeing a ton of targets; and that has traditionally been important in an offense with so many talented skill players. On top of that, Brown has a preexisting relationship with Jalen Hurts, which isn’t a bad thing either. Of course, we can’t look at any receiver move without thinking about the A.J. Brown situation. If Hollywood is coming to Philadelphia to be the Eagles’ No. 3 receiver behind A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith, that’s an ideal role. If he has to be the No. 2 behind Smith, that is less appealing.
What are the Philadelphia Eagles’ future stadium plans? It will soon become a hot topic – The Athletic
When Washington’s new stadium is completed with an estimated fall 2030 date, the Eagles would have the oldest venue in the NFC East. Lincoln Financial Field opened in 2003. There were 14 stadiums erected in the decade before. Six are already being replaced or undergoing major renovations. Replacing or renovating Lincoln Financial Field does not seem to be a necessity, although stadium architecture and features have evolved during its 23-year lifespan. The Eagles’ stadium rights deal was originally 20 years and was extended in 2019 through … the 2032 season — the same year the lease expires. That further highlights a potential inflection point in 2033. (Of course, a lease can be extended just like a naming rights deal.)
2026 NFL draft team needs: Depth chart holes, prospect fits – ESPN
Top three needs: Edge, OL, TE. The Eagles made a push to re-sign Jaelan Phillips in free agency but lost him to the Panthers. Though the addition of Arnold Ebiketie helps, there’s more work to do at that position. Lingering injuries affected the offensive line last year, highlighting the need to pour more resources into the front — especially with right tackle Lane Johnson and left guard Landon Dickerson contemplating retirement this offseason. The return of Dallas Goedert puts a Band-Aid on the tight end position, but Philadelphia needs a long-term solution.
Rich McKay: No proposal to ban it, but tush push still has some people concerned – PFT
“I don’t know that it’s the end of the debate,” McKay said. “I think there’s still people who are concerned with the whole pushing element.” McKay added, however, that the play might decline in part because defenses are getting better at stopping it. In fact, McKay said the league’s data shows that the success rate on traditional quarterback sneaks is now higher than the success rate on the tush push.
Patriots survey results: Fans want to see an A.J. Brown trade – Pats Pulpit
Other factors that will come into play when discussing compensation is when this trade takes place. Due to cap reasons, Philadelphia may need to trade Brown after the June 1 designation in order to spread the dead money cap hits over two seasons. That would likely result in New England surrendering 2027 draft capital, which is largely viewed as a more talented draft than 2026. Patriots fans would currently favor trading this year’s second-round pick (No. 62) in addition to a potential player — such as Kayshon Boutte. 27% of participants would surrender pick No. 31 while just 15% are comfortable moving the team’s 2027 first-round pick.
Ranking 11 position groups in 2026 NFL Draft from strongest to weakest: Edge rusher, linebacker loaded – NFL.com
1) Edge defender (24.5 points). There were five edge defenders drafted in last April’s first round and 11 selected on Day 2. This year, we have another loaded group of QB hunters. Arvell Reese is a developmental prospect with huge upside, while David Bailey is rush-ready as a true pocket pillager. Rueben Bain Jr. brings unique power, while fellow Miami product Akheem Mesidor is the most skilled rusher in this class. Zion Young majors in block destruction as a run defender, and Malachi Lawrence is getting some buzz behind the scenes. This class figures to provide a strong number of future starters, with as many as 17 players poised to come off the board in the first three rounds, but the quality of depth will trail off on Day 3. The edge defenders will rule the first round.
How Cowboys’ last 3 drafts are hurting the roster – Blogging The Boys
So why aren’t the Cowboys doing this simple math and trading more of their late-round picks for veterans? Who knows, but probably because they don’t like to change things and are happy to sit there on the third day of the draft and strategize about players that will never work out in the NFL. The end result of all this – three botched drafts in a row, reaching for players based on athletic traits, refusing to plug roster holes in free agency, and not using enough of their late-round picks as trade currency – is a hollowed-out roster that will not be able to compete against the better teams in the league. That may still be enough for a nine- or ten-win season if things go right, and maybe even a playoff berth. But it also means an early playoff exit. Again.
Washington Commanders Free Agency: Veteran NFC West CB visiting today – Hogs Haven
The NFL world was buzzing with draft updates from Ohio State’s Pro Day yesterday, but the Washington Commanders are still working on filling their 90-man roster. There are a lot of unsigned players available, and one of them will be in Ashburn today. Mike Garafolo reported that the Commanders will be hosting former 49ers/Rams CB Ahkello Witherspoon for a free agency visit today.
Giants’ best free agency move? Re-signing Jermaine Eluemunor; here’s why – Big Blue View
Eluemunor is 31 and coming off his best season. There is the “can he do it again?” question. Still, there is no to believe he can’t, since his career arc has been going up for the last three or four seasons. Considering how many offensive linemen in the NFL are continuing to play well into their mid-30s, Eluemunor should be able to give the Giants high-quality play during the duration of his three-year, $39 million contract. The Giants have questions on the interior. Thomas and Eluemunor, though, provide a pretty good place to begin building an offensive line.
Puka Nacua facing more off-field drama – Turf Show Times
Puka Nacua, a standout young receiver for the Los Angeles Rams, is facing renewed off-field scrutiny following a set of serious allegations that have quickly drawn public attention. While Nacua has built a reputation as one of the most promising offensive talents in the National Football League, this latest controversy places his personal conduct under a microscope at a critical point in his career.
