Liverpool are set to head to the United States shortly to begin the second phase of their preparations for the 2026-27 season under new head coach Andoni Iraola, with a first pre-season friendly set for Saturday, July 25th against Sunderland from Geodis Park in Nashville.
They follow that up with by facing Wrexham at Yankee Stadium in New York on the 29th before wrapping up their tour on August 2nd against Leeds from Soldier Field in Chicago.
While a number of top stars will be absent following the
World Cup, and while the club still have plenty of work to do in the transfer market if Iraola is to be given a fair chance to succeed this season, there will still be some recognizable stars amongst the 31-player squad set to fly across the pond in the coming days.
To that end, first team regulars Joe Gomez, Watru Endo, Milos Kerkez, Dominik Szoboszlai, Connor Bradley, Federico Chiesa, Giovani Leoni, Curtis Jones, Harvey Elliott, Kostas Tsimikas, Hugo Ekitike, Jeremie Frimpong, Rio Ngumoha, Giorgi Mamardashvili, and Freddie Woodman are all in the mix along with new signing Jeremy Jacquet.
On the youth and reserve side, Trey Nyoni, Josh Abe, Stefan Bajcetic, Luke Chambers, Calvin Ramsay, Calum Scanlon, James McConnell, Vítězslav Jaros, Lewis Koumas, Kieran Morrison, Will Wright, Bailey Hall, Josh Sonni-Lambie, Ifeanyi Ndukwe, and Harvey Davies have also been included.
However, it’s worth noting the squad list includes players like Ekitike, who is expected to be out until at least around Christmas due to injury, as well as Leoni, Bradley, Endo, and Jacquet who are returning from injury and whose involvement may be limited.
