Bayern Munich center-back Jonathan Tah is a bit wary of Club Brugge and does not think anyone should overlook the Belgian side.
“I played against them with Leverkusen three years ago. They’re used to being very dominant in their league. They’re a good team that shouldn’t be underestimated. We have to approach the game seriously,” said Tah (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).
Tah is correct, Club Brugge has some very positive attributes, especially with its attack. Given that, Tah know it will be a good opportunity
for the Bayern Munich backline and goalkeeper to step up to a challenge. Tah and fellow center-backs Dayot Upamecano and Kim Min-jae could be tested mightily.
Head coach Vincent Kompany will start two of the three central defenders, but all three will likely see action.
“Dayot is a very complete center-back. He’s extremely aggressive, fast, and good at tackling. He’s brave in his build-up play and dribbling – I think very highly of him. He’s outstanding, and it’s fun to play with him. But also with Minjae – he’s also very aggressive, gets through the tackling and defends aggressively going forward. It’s nice to see such high quality in the position; it makes us all better,” said Tah, who also was ready to tout goalkeeper Manuel Neuer. “Iknow the feeling of playing with (Neuer) from the national team. It’s the same at club level – the only difference is that you play more games together. It feels good. When long balls come, he’s always active, always there, always very present behind you. That gives the whole team, every central defender, a good feeling.”
