Some may argue the New York Jets are catching the New England Patriots at a bad time. New England is coming off a beatdown of the Las Vegas Raiders, and Drake Maye has reset his factory settings to being a good quarterback.
However, some key injury updates favor the Jets. NFL Insider Ian Rapoport revealed on X, “Patriots OT Will Campbell, whose day was cut short today with injury, is believed to have suffered a knee sprain, sources say, and he’ll have an MRI tomorrow to confirm. This will likely cause
him to miss some time.”
Campbell has only given up one sack this season. New England is going to be down their starting left tackle for this home game against the Jets.
David Bailey is coming off the best game of his career with his three-sack performance in Week 5. He should be licking his chops.
Now, personally, I wouldn’t have minded Bailey going against T. rex arms, who can’t reach things on the top shelf, but going against his backup is great news for the Jets.
Also worth noting that the Patriots lost running back TreVeyon Henderson, who injured an ankle in Week 5. So his status is also very much up in the air.
“The Patriots have been snakebit by injuries, having placed 19 players on injured reserve this year, which already surpassed their total from all of last season (17),” ESPN’s Mike Reiss revealed.
