The Cincinnati Bengals may have struck gold with bringing in Dohnte Meyers this offseason.
Meyers has been a fun story to follow from the moment he stepped into the building and battled his way onto the 53-man roster going into the new season.
Fast forward to Week 4 and his role took an even bigger leap after Ja’Marr Chase went down with a concussion.
Meyers finished the day with a career-high seven catches for 82 yards and has truly established himself as WR3 for the Bengals behind Chase and Tee Higgins.
With both Chase and Higgins on the injury report heading to Miami, Meyers has another opportunity to step up in a huge way alongside Joe Burrow.
“I’m honestly just looking forward to competing that’s something I always look forward to, enjoying the sport we play,” Meyers said. “Work, work and practicing reps, that’s something we both take serious and we take pride in, that’s something he recognizes and continues to work at.”
Meyers also recently shared his thoughts on Chase being back at practice Thursday and Friday.
“Of course. I was out there joking with him about it. I was glad to have him back out there working and grinding, especially doing what he loves to do best.”
It is still uncertain if Chase will play, but Meyers is ready to go if a bigger role is thrust upon him.
