Good morning, Fear the Wall.
One of the more surprising pieces of new to come out of the Dortmund camp this weekend regarded the contract extension of Julian Brandt, or rather the non-extension, as we now know. Sean already reported on this news, but it seems that Brandt and BVB were not able to come to terms over an extension, and the German will leave the club in the summer.
Brandt has cut a divisive figure at BVB in is seven years at the club. Despite being one of Dortmund’s most consistent scorers
and providers in recent years, Brandt has taken repeated criticism from the fans for his anonymous stages in big games, and a sense that he is not the type of attacker to take BVB to the next level.
So that’s Brandt; what else is new?
