Barcelona forward Raphinha has been back in training with Brazil at World Cup 2026 as he bids to make his return to action after suffering a hamstring injury.
Raphinha has not played since sustaining the problem against Haiti but has vowed to do all he can to return as soon as possible for Carlo Ancelotti’s side.
According to ESPN Brasil, Raphinha enjoyed a light training session on Tuesday and will train again on Wednesday morning.
Raphinha is making positive progress but there is still a huge doubt
over whether he will play against Norway in their last 16 on Sunday.
ESPN say that Brazil are “cautiously considering” a possible return for Raphinha against Norway but the reality is that he has ” little chance” of playing in the game.
Brazil instead plan to monitor his progress but don’t want to take any risks. The Selecao are said to have confidence they can progress to the quarter-finals without having to risk Raphinha.
The Barcelona star’s history is also likely to be playing a part in the decision making. Raphinha has suffered with hamstring injuries throughout the 2025-26 season and the risk of relapse remains high.
Brazil and Norway face off in New Jersey in the last 16, with the winners going on to a quarter-final tie against Mexico, England or DRC Congo.
