According to Michael Del Negro, who covers the UFL (United Football League) on social media, the Chicago Bears are signing linebacker Tony Fields II, who just wrapped up a successful season with the UFL’s Columbus Aviators.
The soon to be 27 year old Fields (6’1”, 220) was originally a fifth-round pick of the Cleveland Browns in 2021, and during his time with the Browns (2021-2024), he appeared in 45 games with 10 starts, while racking up nearly 800 snaps on special teams.
In 2024, he spent time on
the Los Angeles Rams practice squad, and he was also part of their offseason roster in 2025.
In his season with the Aviators, he played in all 10 games, recording 77 tackles, 5 tackles for loss, and a sack, and he was named to the All-UFL Team.
The Bears currently have a full offseason roster, so once this transaction is official, there will be a corresponding move.
Do you like his chances of sticking around with the Bears in some capacity in 2026?
